4 places to hide storage in a 9 m² bedroom
Under the bed, above the door, behind the headboard and inside the nightstand. Four spots most small bedrooms leave empty.
A small bedroom usually has more storage space than it looks. It’s just in places you don’t see when you walk in.
1. Under the bed
Rolling drawers or low bins on casters turn the biggest empty volume in the room into a closet. Measure the clearance first: most bed frames leave 15–30 cm, and drawers need about 2 cm less than that to slide freely.
2. Above the door
A single shelf mounted 20–30 cm above the door frame holds things you use a few times a year: spare bedding, suitcases, seasonal clothes.
3. Behind the headboard
Pull the bed 15 cm off the wall and run a narrow shelf behind it. It replaces a nightstand and keeps the floor clear.
4. Inside the nightstand
Swap an open-legged nightstand for one with two drawers. Same footprint, double the hidden storage.
